Deeply Touched

We want to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us find straw for our dogs, we are truly overwhelmed by all the responses! You all shared our need with friends and family on FaceBook, and the news spread like wildfire! FaceBook is truly a powerful tool for good!

In just a few short hours after posting our need for straw on FaceBook, Sharon Stumpf, her husband Tim and their neighbour came to our rescue!

Sharon’s neighbour, who owns a field next door to them, mowed the field and then allowed Sharon and her husband to bale the straw and donate as much as was needed, to the Sanctuary. Sharon and Tim even delivered the straw right to our door!

Sharon and Tim we are so deeply touched by your efforts on behalf of our dogs, there are just no words. Here are just a few of the dogs who will be kept warm, dry and comfortable by your gift.

But the kindness and generosity does not stop there. We also have received donations from our Amazon Wish List in the form of dog igloos; tarps and buckets. I wish I knew all the names of the donors, I would like to thank you all personally, but I don’t have all the names. Thank you to Jacque Losi who donated a dog igloo, tarp and a bucket. And a big thank you to Tia and the Pacific NorthWest Animal Welfare Project who donated a dog igloo and have aided us many times before.

Thanks also to Dustin Capshaw who combed CraigsList spreading the word of our need and looking for igloos. He managed to find a donation of 1 large igloo!

And last but not least, I would like to thank Jenna Tracy who jumped right in and offered to help with some much needed fundraising!

We are still in need of igloos, tarps and buckets, but we wanted to thank those who have responded so generously to our call so far. We are truly touched by your compassion.

About colvillevalleyanimalsanctuary

The Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, and otherwise homeless companion animals. We provide both crisis and long-term sheltering, medical care, fostering, and adoption services - all with the goal of placing our animals permanently in safe and loving homes. We spay and neuter all of the animals in our care and actively promote, through financial donations and community support, the effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Stevens County. By example and through education, we promote and advance the values of responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
