Latest on Cinco (aka Mr Guy)

I received a wonderful update email from Dr. Ward about Cinco, formerly known as Mr. Guy. She tells us that Cinco is doing very well and loving his new life. Here he is with Kahri, his new mom, up in Priest Lake. Kahri has cared for Cinco ever since his amputation surgery and they have become fast friends.

It has come to light that he may also be deaf or mostly deaf but seems to be doing alright with his disability.  He is learning to go into the lake but finds the sand and boat-docks somewhat difficult to navigate. His spirit is strong and he is willing and wanting to please.

Last week Dr. Ward removed the last of the staples, and did another quick surgery to trim some of the extra skin and re-close it.

Cinco is looking great and I am so happy that his story has a happy ending. Thank you once again to everyone who chipped in to ensure that this beautiful boy could have a chance at a real and happy life!

About colvillevalleyanimalsanctuary

The Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, and otherwise homeless companion animals. We provide both crisis and long-term sheltering, medical care, fostering, and adoption services - all with the goal of placing our animals permanently in safe and loving homes. We spay and neuter all of the animals in our care and actively promote, through financial donations and community support, the effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Stevens County. By example and through education, we promote and advance the values of responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.

  1. I just came across your blog! I have to say what Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary does for animals is amazing! It is so nice that there are organizations and people out there that care enough to put the time, energy, money and effort into doing everything they can for animals that may not otherwise survive. Thank you for what you do!!!
