Update #2: Mr. Guy

Dr Ward sent us some photos she took pre- and post- surgery. She says Mr. Guy, who she calls Cinco, (short for Cinco De Guyo) is doing very well! He is up, he is eating and drinking and all the other things he should be doing at this point. He should be going to his foster/recovery home today or tomorrow.

Here is a good look at the leg, just before surgery begins, Mr. Guy is already under anesthesia.

This is the underside of the leg.

The area is shaven and sterilized and ready for surgery.

And here he is, shortly after surgery is complete. In truth, Mr. Guy has been a 3-legged dog all of his life, the leg was really too short to have been of much use to him. He surprised Dr. Ward with the speed of his recovery and how well he took to the leg being gone. He didn’t really seem to notice. Of course he is looking a bit loopy, Dr. Ward has him on a strong pain medication for the next few days.

And here he is all bandaged and just resting.

Thank you Dr. Ward for all you have done for Mr. Guy. He couldn’t have been in better hands!

About colvillevalleyanimalsanctuary

The Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, and otherwise homeless companion animals. We provide both crisis and long-term sheltering, medical care, fostering, and adoption services - all with the goal of placing our animals permanently in safe and loving homes. We spay and neuter all of the animals in our care and actively promote, through financial donations and community support, the effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Stevens County. By example and through education, we promote and advance the values of responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
