Another SAD DAY AT THE SANCTUARY:
I got this email this morning from our kennel manager.
“It’s been a heart wrenching week at the shelter. Tonight after obedience training I put our star pupils back in their kennels and then I went outside into the main run to let out Kramer and Hans. I found Hans dead next to his water bucket that I had filled three hours earlier.
When Dr. Mary examined him at 3 am Thanksgiving morning with non-specific hemorrhagic gastric enteritis she mentioned that he had a heart murmur. Not considered serious — surviving the hemorrhagic gastric enteritis was the main concern. Survive he did along with gaining weight and indulging his passion for cats and balls. Now the dog that nobody seemed to want for eight years is finally in a better place, free and I hope happy, with a wonderful family in heaven.”
Hans was with us for many years. One of those dogs that just seemed to fall through the cracks and no matter how we tried, we just couldn’t find a home for him. We will miss him.
Good-bye Hans. We wish would could have found that special family for you. RIP
