Update: Francis , he’s on his way!

Francis the three-legged wonder dog.Our boy Francis has recovered beautifully from his surgery and is totally adjusted to life as a tri-pod dog (“leg?…what missing leg?!?!”).

On Friday he took the next step on his journey to find a loving forever home. A kind volunteer drove Francis west to where the BIG shelters are. We have successfully placed 3 other three-legged animals through our larger partner shelters so we have no doubt at all that Francis will find a home quickly, with his out-going exuberant personality, who wouldn’t fall hopelessly in love with him?

We thought about keeping him here and continuing to search for a home for him in our community, but the truth is that the community is small and it is hard enough to place a totally healthy dog, one with a disability (although Francis doesn’t consider himself disabled!) would take that much longer and we didn’t want Francis to have to wait.

So we say good-bye and good luck to a wonderful, brave, loving friend, we know he will find his new home soon!

We would also like to thank once again, all of the people who Chipped In to help us pay for Francis’s expensive medical treatment, we could not do it with out you!

About colvillevalleyanimalsanctuary

The Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected, and otherwise homeless companion animals. We provide both crisis and long-term sheltering, medical care, fostering, and adoption services - all with the goal of placing our animals permanently in safe and loving homes. We spay and neuter all of the animals in our care and actively promote, through financial donations and community support, the effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Stevens County. By example and through education, we promote and advance the values of responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
